Says the CHOWHOUND: "...I hit brand new Pearson's Texas Barbecue at Legends Bar (71-04 35th Avenue, Jackson Heights, Queens; 718-779-7715), and I can offer a pretty confident review, having tried takeout on both of their first two days plus a big eat tonight (Sunday, November 22, 1999). Of course, it's never fair to render judgement during a first week of operation--especially with barbecue, which requires so much tweaking of equipment. But to his credit, and my amazement, the Pearson's pitmaster (I really must learn his name; he's the serious-looking mustachioed Latino fellow who's long been Pearson's secret weapon) has already worked out most of the kinks. He seems to have been making smart use of the time afforded by the long opening delay..."
